Training Woes!

 Since I wrote my first post, I have had a bit of a disaster in my preparations for the walk. Firstly, I have injured my left hip. I do occasional labouring for a friend, who has a flat-bed Ford Transit. I had to climb onto the back of the truck to move some turf we were about to lay. Foolishly, I decided it would be quicker to jump down, rather than lower myself gently to the ground (something I have done many times before). Unfortunately, on this occasion, I'd left a wheel barrow by the tailgate, so not only did I have to jump down, but I also had to push off to 'clear' the barrow. I managed this fine, but landed a bit heavier than I expected. It didn't hurt, but was quite a jolt. I carried on shifting the turf without problem. However, later that evening, I noticed that my left leg was aching more than usual. I still didn't think anything of it, but the following morning, my left hip had seized up completely and was extremely painful to squat or lift the leg. It ...
